Ingredients

  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • Oil, for greasing

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the lukewarm water, flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Stir until the mixture is evenly combined.
  2. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it sit in a warm place for 8-12 hours. The mixture should become bubbly and smell sour.
  3. When the mixture is ready, grease a 9-inch round cake pan with oil. Pour in the mixture and spread it evenly in the pan.
  4. Cover the pan with a damp cloth and let it sit for another 8-12 hours.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes, or until it is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
