Ingredients
- 1 kg of diced lamb
- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, crushed
- 2 teaspoons of cumin
- 2 teaspoons of paprika
- 2 teaspoons of ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 1 cup of red wine
- 1 cup of beef stock
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1/2 cup of Shiraz
Directions
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium-high heat and add the diced lamb. Cook for about 5 minutes until the lamb is browned.
- Add the onion and garlic and cook for another 3 minutes.
- Add the cumin, paprika, ginger, cinnamon, turmeric and black pepper and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the tomato paste, red wine, beef stock, honey and Shiraz and stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve with some cooked rice or couscous.
