Ingredients

  • 2 cups pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the maple syrup and butter to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the baking soda.
  4. Pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread it out with a spatula.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool and harden for about 5 minutes.
  6. Once it is cool enough to touch, roll the mixture into a log and cut it into pieces.
  7. Roll each piece into a ball and place it on a piece of wax paper.
  8. Allow the taffy to cool completely before serving.
