Ingredients
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Directions
- In a small bowl, combine the lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a rectangle about 1/2-inch thick. Brush the melted butter over the top and sprinkle with the confectioners' sugar and cinnamon. Roll up the dough into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the pieces on the baking sheet. Cover with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden brown. Let cool before serving.
