It's easy to make, and the best part is that you can customize it with your favorite ingredients. Serve it with a side of toast or fresh fruit for a complete breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausages, casings removed
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausages over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove the sausages from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Once cooled, crumble the sausages into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic until they are tender and fragrant.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add in the cooked sausages, sautéed vegetables, shredded cheddar cheese, dried thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and lightly golden on top.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Cut into squares and serve hot. Enjoy!
