Ingredients
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
Directions
- In a small saucepan, combine the milk, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Once the mixture is simmering, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour the hot chocolate into two mugs.
- Garnish with marshmallows, whipped cream, or chocolate shavings, if desired.
