Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 1/2 cups bread flour

  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and honey. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, whole wheat flour, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, rolled oats, melted butter, and salt.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
  9. Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan.
  10. Cover the pan with the kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
