Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a roll.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
  8. Flatten each roll and place a spoonful of the cheese mixture in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
  9. Place the filled rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a damp cloth, and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and brush the rolls with melted butter.
  12. Allow the cheddar rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
