Ingredients

  • 4 tuna steaks
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Sliced pineapple, for serving
  • Coconut rice, for serving

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, chili powder, salt, black pepper, and cilantro to make the marinade.
  2. Place tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the steaks are well coated. Cover the dish and let the tuna marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and discard the marinade. Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel.
  5. Place the tuna steaks on the preheated grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Avoid overcooking to keep the tuna moist and tender.
  6. Remove the tuna steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the grilled tuna steaks with sliced pineapple and coconut rice. Enjoy!
