Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) honey
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) butter
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (480 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the honey, butter, and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture until well blended.
  5. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Press down with a fork to make a crisscross pattern.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
  8. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
