Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups chopped apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, salt, sugar, 2 tablespoons butter and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together apples, cream, sour cream, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar.
  5. Pour into the prepared crust.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter and remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Sprinkle over the top of the pie.
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until crust is golden and apples are tender.
  8. Allow to cool before serving.
