Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup dates, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in dates and walnuts.
  5. In a small bowl, beat egg and vanilla extract together. Add to the flour mixture and mix until dough forms.
  6. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  8. Remove from baking sheet and let cool on wire rack.
