Ingredients
- 1 cup dried split peas
- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 1/2 cup pearl barley
- 1/2 cup dried lentils
- 1/4 cup dried minced onion
- 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup dried carrot flakes
- 1/4 cup dried celery flakes
- 1/4 cup dried parsley flakes
Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; stir to mix. Place the mixture into a 1-quart canning jar.
- In a small bowl, combine the carrot, celery and parsley flakes. Place the mixture in a small plastic bag. Place the bag inside the jar.
- Seal the jar with a lid and decorate with a festive ribbon or bow.
