Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons freshly chopped cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 lime, juiced
Directions
- Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- Mash the avocado with a fork until it is creamy, but still slightly chunky.
- Add the red onion, jalapeno pepper, garlic, cilantro, salt, and pepper. Stir until combined.
- Squeeze the lime juice over the top and stir to combine.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, if necessary.
- Serve immediately with chips or use as a topping for tacos, burritos, or salads.
