Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound beef tenderloin, cut into thin strips
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook, stirring occasionally, until it is browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add the broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, basil, salt, and pepper and bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the sour cream and parsley and simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Stir in the butter and simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
