  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until onion is tender and translucent.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Meanwhile, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
  7. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread a layer of the meat sauce over the noodles.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  9. Repeat the layering process two more times, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly on top.
