This lasagna helper recipe provides a simplified way to make a mouthwatering lasagna dish with fewer steps. Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 9 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until onion is tender and translucent.
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
- Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread a layer of the meat sauce over the noodles.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
- Repeat the layering process two more times, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly on top.
