Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch pre-made pie crust
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 leeks, white and light green parts only, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and press it into the bottom and sides of the dish. Trim the excess crust and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced leeks and minced garlic, and sauté until the leeks are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  5. Spread the sautéed leeks and garlic evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the leeks.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded Gruyere cheese over the top of the quiche.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
