This Americanized version of Korean Barbequed Beef combines the bold flavors of traditional Korean BBQ with a unique twist. The tender marinated beef is grilled to perfection, resulting in a mouthwatering dish that is sure to impress your guests. Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Steamed rice and kimchi, for serving

Directions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, rice vinegar, green onions, sesame seeds, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Add sliced flank steak to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Remove steak from marinade and discard excess marinade.
  4. Grill steak for 2-3 minutes per side, or until desired doneness is reached.
