Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread

Directions

  1. Press the tofu: Place the tofu between two paper towels and place a heavy object, like a cast-iron skillet, on top. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Slice the tofu: Cut the tofu into thin slices, about 1/4-inch thick.
  3. Make the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Marinate the tofu: Place the tofu slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, making sure to coat each slice evenly. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat the grill or grill pan: Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
