Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Place the chicken wings in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight for maximum flavor.
  4. Remove the wings from the marinade and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer.
  5. Bake the wings for 45-50 minutes, or until they are crispy and cooked through, flipping once halfway through cooking.
  6. While the wings are baking, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Whisk in cornstarch until well combined.
