Ingredients

  • 6-8 lb pork butt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce

Directions

  1. Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and cumin to make spice rub.
  2. Rub spice mixture all over pork butt, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Preheat smoker to 225°F.
  4. Place pork butt in smoker and smoke for 6-8 hours, or until internal temperature reaches 195°F.
  5. Remove pork butt from smoker and let rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Shred pork using two forks or meat claws.
  7. Mix apple cider vinegar, apple juice, and BBQ sauce in a bowl.
  8. Pour mixture over shredded pork and mix well to combine.
