Ingredients

  • 1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain the excess grease from the sausage.
  3. On a floured surface, roll out the thawed bread dough into a 12x18-inch rectangle.
  4. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions over the sausage.
  6. Starting from one of the long ends, tightly roll up the dough, like a jelly roll.
  7. Pinch the seams to seal the dough and tuck the ends under.
  8. Place the rolled-up dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried oregano.
  10. Brush the butter mixture over the top of the dough, making sure to cover the entire surface.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  13. To serve, simply pull apart the bread into individual slices. Enjoy!
