Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated pretzel dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 8 hot dogs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt, for sprinkling

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Unroll the refrigerated pretzel dough and cut it into small pieces. Each piece should be large enough to wrap around a bite-sized piece of hot dog.
  3. Take a piece of the pretzel dough, place a piece of hot dog in the center, and wrap the dough around it, making sure to pinch the seams to seal.
  4. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the baking soda and stir until dissolved.
  5. Carefully drop the pretzel-wrapped hot dog bites into the boiling water. Boil for 30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush the tops of the pretzel bites with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pretzel dough is golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon on top of the pretzel dog bites.
  9. Return to the oven for an additional 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve the Cheesy Bacon Pretzel Dog Bites warm and enjoy!
