Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 lbs ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional)
