- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
- 1/2 cup cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup bean sprouts
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 20 spring roll wrappers
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sweet chili sauce for dipping
Directions
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Add the shrimp to the marinade and let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sauté the carrots, cabbage, bean sprouts, and green onions until they are slightly tender. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a large pot or deep-fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- Take a spring roll wrapper and place it on a clean surface. Add a spoonful of the vegetable filling in the center of the wrapper. Add a shrimp on top of the vegetables.
- Fold the sides of the wrapper over the filling and roll tightly. Brush a small amount of water on the edge to seal the spring roll. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Carefully lower the spring rolls into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
