With its simple ingredients and quick preparation time, this recipe is a must-try for any fan of Italian cuisine.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 baguette, sliced
  • 1 clove of garlic, peeled
  • Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all the flavors.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Place the sliced baguette onto a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil. Toast in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is lightly golden and crispy.
  4. Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  5. Rub the peeled garlic clove on one side of each toasted bread slice. This will infuse the bread with a subtle garlic flavor.
  6. Spoon the tomato mixture onto the garlic-rubbed side of each bread slice. Make sure to spread it evenly.
  7. Serve the bruschetta immediately and enjoy!
