Ingredients

  • 1 pound of clams
  • 1 pound of mussels
  • 1 pound of crab
  • 1 pound of shrimp
  • 1 cup of white wine
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 lemon, sliced

Directions

  1. Rinse the clams and mussels in cold water and remove any debris.
  2. In a large pot, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Add the oregano, basil, and parsley and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Add the paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and red pepper flakes and stir for 1 minute.
  5. Add the white wine and chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the clams and mussels to the pot and cover with a lid. Cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Add the crab and shrimp to the pot and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Add the lemon slices and stir gently. Cover the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  9. Remove the pot from the heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve the clam bake in shallow bowls with crusty bread.
