Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • Directions

      1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and cream of tartar over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the mixture is a light golden brown color.
      2. Remove from heat and add the butter, stirring until melted. Add the chocolate chips, walnuts, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the chocolate chips are melted.
