Ingredients
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup fresh milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cheese slices or salted eggs for toppings (optional)
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine rice flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add water while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.
- Add fresh milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well incorporated.
- Divide the batter into portions and pour into individual puto molds or muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
- Add cheese slices or salted eggs on top of each portion if desired.
- Prepare a steamer and bring the water to a boil.
- Arrange the puto molds or muffin cups in the steamer, making sure to give enough space for them to expand.
- Steam for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a puto comes out clean.
- Remove from the steamer and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
