Ingredients
- 4 pork steaks
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 8 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Season both sides of the pork steaks with the seasoning mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork steaks and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side until browned. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes until the mushrooms are browned and the onions are softened.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for another 5 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and heavy cream. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Return the pork steaks to the skillet, spooning the mushroom sauce over them. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes until the pork is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let the pork steaks rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
- Serve the cheddar mushroom pork steaks with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables. Enjoy!
