- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 teaspoon fresh sage leaves, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups dry bread cubes
- 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add celery and onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add thyme, sage, salt, and pepper and sauté for an additional minute.
- In a large bowl, combine the celery mixture with the bread cubes and stir to combine.
- Add the broth and stir until the bread cubes are evenly moistened.
- Transfer the stuffing to a 9x13-inch baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
