Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh sage leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups dry bread cubes
  • 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add celery and onion and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add thyme, sage, salt, and pepper and sauté for an additional minute.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the celery mixture with the bread cubes and stir to combine.
  5. Add the broth and stir until the bread cubes are evenly moistened.
  6. Transfer the stuffing to a 9x13-inch baking dish and bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
