Ingredients
- 1 lb. of tortellini
- 2 cups of all-purpose baking mix
- 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- 1 egg, beaten
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1 jar of your favorite marinara sauce
Directions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the tortellini and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes.
- Drain the tortellini and spread out on a plate to cool.
- In a medium bowl, combine the baking mix, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg.
- Dip each piece of tortellini in the egg, then in the baking mix mixture. Coat evenly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry the tortellini in batches, until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain the fried tortellini on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve the fried tortellini with your favorite marinara sauce.
