Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 envelope rapid-rise yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (120-130°F)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour, sugar, undissolved yeast, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping the bowl.
  3. Increase to high speed and beat for 3 minutes.
  4. Using a wooden spoon, stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8 to 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.
  6. Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top.
  7. Cover and let rise in a warm place 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  8. Punch dough down; turn onto a lightly floured surface.
  9. Divide in half and shape each half into a ball.
  10. Cover and let rest 10 minutes.
  11. Roll each half to 12-inch circle.
  12. Place dough circles onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  13. Top with sauce, cheese, and desired toppings.
  14. Bake in a preheated oven at 425°F for 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
