Ingredients
- 1 pack of extra-firm tofu, drained and cut into 1/4-inch cubes
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs
- 3 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of unsweetened non-dairy milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions
- In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper.
- In another shallow bowl, add the non-dairy milk.
- In a third shallow bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs.
- Dip each tofu cube in the flour mixture until it is completely coated.
- Dip the coated tofu cube into the milk until it is completely coated.
- Dip the milk-coated tofu cube into the panko breadcrumbs until it is completely coated.
- Repeat this process with all the tofu cubes.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the breaded tofu cubes to the skillet and fry until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and serve warm.
