Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 ounces) chili with beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups Fritos original corn chips
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapenos (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned and vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Drain fat from the skillet, then stir in chili, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. In a 9x13-inch baking dish, layer Fritos, ground beef mixture, cheese, tomatoes, and jalapenos and olives (if using).
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Serve hot.
