Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- Black food dye
- Assorted candy eyes
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups. Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
- Remove cupcakes from muffin tin and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Divide the black food dye into 12 small bowls. Dip the top of each cupcake into the dye, turning to cover the top of the cupcake evenly.
- Press candy eyes onto the top of each cupcake.
- Serve and enjoy!
