Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 cups cubed white bread
- 1 cup chicken broth
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add apples, walnuts, almonds, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add bread cubes and chicken broth and stir until combined. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
