Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups cubed white bread
1 cup chicken broth
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add apples, walnuts, almonds, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes.
Add bread cubes and chicken broth and stir until combined. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
