- 1 package (17.3 ounces) puff pastry, thawed
- 1 pound apple chicken sausage, casing removed
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the chicken sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside.

- Unfold one sheet of puff pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread half of the Dijon mustard down the center of the pastry, leaving a border on each side.
- Spread half of the cooked sausage mixture on top of the mustard.
- Repeat the previous two steps with the remaining puff pastry, Dijon mustard, and sausage mixture.
- Fold the long sides of each pastry sheet over the sausage mixture, overlapping slightly.
- Brush the beaten egg over the pastry to give it a golden color.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Allow the braid to cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
