Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons anise extract
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
Directions
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and anise extract, and mix until combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix until a dough forms.
- Form the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut out cookies with desired cookie cutters, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Allow to cool before serving.
