Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, mayonnaise and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture.
  3. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
