Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until they become soft and slightly caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, cook the beef slices over medium-high heat until they are browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. This should take about 5-6 minutes. Sprinkle the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the beef during cooking.
  5. Slice the sub rolls open and place 2 slices of provolone cheese on each roll. Toast them in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese melts and the rolls become slightly crispy.
  6. Place a generous portion of the cooked beef on each roll, and top it with the sautéed onions and bell peppers.
  7. Serve the steak subs hot and enjoy!
