Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir the sifted ingredients into the ricotta mixture. Fold in the figs and walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Bake for 40 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool before serving.
