Easy Slow Cooker Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 lasagna noodles, uncooked
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef, onion, green pepper, and garlic until beef is cooked through and vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add spaghetti sauce, Italian seasoning, sugar, salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Spread 1/3 of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker.
  4. Top with 3 lasagna noodles, breaking them to fit if necessary.
  5. Top with half of the remaining sauce, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
  6. Repeat layering with 3 noodles, remaining sauce, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
  7. Finish with remaining 3 noodles, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until noodles are tender.
  9. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
