Ingredients

Directions

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead in the raisins.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into buns.
Place the buns on a greased baking sheet and let rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Bake the buns for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
For the glaze: In a small bowl, combine the confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm buns.

The cross on top of the buns is meant to represent the crucifixion of Jesus.
The buns are traditionally eaten on Good Friday.
