Ingredients
- 2 cups walnuts, chopped
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Phyllo dough sheets
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Directions
- In a medium saucepan, combine honey, sugar, water, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped walnuts. Let cool slightly
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and layer phyllo dough sheets, brushing each sheet with melted butter
- Spread the walnut mixture evenly over the phyllo dough layers
- Continue layering phyllo dough sheets on top of the walnut mixture, brushing each sheet with melted butter
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy
- Remove from oven and let cool before cutting into squares or triangles to serve
