Ingredients

  • 2 cups of long grain white rice
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 3/4 cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the milk to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the rice and reduce the heat to low. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
  3. Stir in the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Stir in the raisins and butter.
