Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package empanada wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the cumin, chili powder, coriander, paprika, ginger, and salt and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the mixture cool for a few minutes.
  4. Lay out the empanada wrappers on a work surface. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the beef mixture on one half of each wrapper. Fold the other half of the wrapper over the filling and press the edges together to seal.
  5. Brush the beaten egg over the samosas. Place the samosas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
