Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Add chicken broth and white wine and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and black pepper.
  6. Gradually whisk in heavy cream and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in parsley and season with salt and pepper, to taste.
