Ingredients

  • 3 cups of old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of melted butter
  • 1/4 cup of light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of raisins or other dried fruit (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, milk, melted butter, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Stir in the raisins or other dried fruit, if using.
  4. Pour the oatmeal mixture into a greased 9-inch baking dish.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the oatmeal is golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Serve warm with milk or yogurt, or cold with a scoop of ice cream.
