Directions

Add the chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, and ground cloves. Stir to combine and cook for 1 minute.
Add the tomato sauce, kidney beans, water, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
